For more than 50 years, Pantone Inc. of the USA has been determining in colours that call the tune in fashion and lifestyle. This year for the first time, not one colour but two have been chosen as Colour of the Year: ‘Rose Quartz’ and ‘Serenity’, a warm pink and a cool blue. Whilst the pink reflects our longing to feel safe and secure, the blue stands for order and peace. According to Pantone, this is exactly the mix we need in our turbulent times – and it goes without saying that the corresponding hues are also to be found in my treasure chamber!
There are many stones in various shades of pink – from light to shocking: pink topaz, pink tourmaline and morganite, to name just a few. But probably the noblest and most coveted stone in this colour range is the pink imperial topaz, also referred to as pink topaz. Normally, the topaz comes in brown, blue, white or yellow; the reddish-pink stones are particularly rare. And that makes them eminently suitable as a particularly sparkling investment!
The first thing gemstone lovers think of when they hear the word blue is sure to be the aquamarine. After all, doesn’t this stone shine in an extraordinarily beautiful range of blue colours, from the light blue of the sky to the deep blue of the ocean? Doesn’t it put us in mind of a day at the seaside, far removed from the cares and bustle, deeply relaxed and at peace with ourselves and the world? Indeed it does! That’s why the aquamarine too is one of the most popular and best known gemstones in the world.
